Shamrock V

1931
After Sir Thomas Lipton's death, Shamrock V was sold to Thomas Sopwith who sailed it as a trial horse to familiarise himself with the J Class.

1934 - 1937
Bought by Richard Fairey in 1934, Shamrock raced with English J's and Yankee during the 1935 season. Fairey owned it until 1937.

1937
Shamrock V
was sold to the Italian senator and press publisher Mario Crespi, and renamed Sea Song.

1945
M. Montin owned it after the 2nd World war.

1962
Shamrock V was ought by Piero Scanu in 1962, and renamed Quadrifolio.

1970…1980..
The boat was refitted in the 1970s by the Southampton yard of Camper & Nicholsons. It was sold to the Lipton Tea Company, which donated it to the Museum of Yachting in Newport, RI, USA.

1988 - 1989
Shamrock V
was restored under the supervision of Elizabeth Meyer in 1988-1989. It was sold to its present owner, a Brazilian yachtsman in 1998.

1999 - 2000
The last Sir Thomas Lipton's J Class was rebuilt at the Pendennis Shipyard, UK. It was in Auckland during the America's Cup races.

2005
Shamrock V is still sailing for charter and regularly racing in the big classic yacht regattas in the Mediterranean and on the Caribbean Sea.
