One of the best views of Port America’s Cup is from high atop Team China’s base at Dragon Lounge Bar.  With cocktail in hand you can see from one tip of the Port to the other and everything in between, as flags flap over the darsena marking each team’s base and watch from above as America’s Cup Port visitors shrink to the size of ants. Sunset on the terrace is especially rewarding as the Valencian evening sky lights up in oranges and pinks of every shade over the Mediterranean. 

 

If as the sunsets, your stomach rumbles, there’s no need to move from your perfect perch. There is a full service restaurant whose menu features such dishes as Pasta Bolognese smothered with a rich tomato meat sauce and other Italian delights. Not the least decadent of these is a beautifully rich tiramisu with layers of feathery white cream and chocolate, which makes for a perfect ending. 

 

Once the last spot of chocolate is licked from the plate, the tables are cleared to make way for the party to begin and the Dragon transforms into a popular late night dance club at midnight. You can dance the night away as the Endesa Light show plays in clear view.

 

There is one small price to pay for this killer view and perfect evening under the stars. You’ll have to pay your dues in sweat as you make the short climb to the top, but consider it an opportunity to work up a good appetite!
