The same decade the America first took on the Royal Yacht club near the Isle of Wight, Edward Loysel de Santais unveiled the modern day espresso machine to a much perkier public at the Paris Exposition. Since then, the process of using steam to create a rich, dense shot of espresso is used every day on every continent.
A perfect espresso pull, full of heart, body, and topped with a perfect, foamy ¨crema¨ is no simple creature. The right bean, grind, temperature, steam pressure, and the loving hand of a good barista all must unite for every last buzz in a cup that gets us through each morning.
