The big kids have plenty to keep them occupied in Port America’s Cup, but sometimes races don’t cut it for entertaining the pint-sized set. But the Port’s younger visitors are far from left to twiddle their thumbs. There is a playground in the AC North Park that makes the weeny thing you frolicked on in the school yard look like little more than a dusty swing. There are so many things to slide down, swing from, jump into and climb up in this enormous fun park that the only problem will be getting the kids to stop and drink their juice box.
By far the most popular section of the play area is the El Corte Ingles Boat, where once on board kids will discover slides, sand bags, a swimming pool of balls and plenty more, giving them a chance to have their very own sailing experience. The boat is only open for play time from 12 to 2pm and 4 to 9pm on weekdays, but opens up early on weekends at 10am, and is watched attentively by qualified staff.
The rest of the playground is, of course, open for whenever mom and dad need to sit on a bench and have a moment of peace, while little Jimmy and Judy let out some of that pent up energy. For this promised moment of respite, you can find the play area right behind the Maxi-screen just inside the Malverossa Beach entrance to the AC Park.
