Participation of the Volunteers to the Boat Parade
The Veles e Vents building was full of spectators trying to find the best place to watch the Boat Parade Saturday night. And it was an incredible show.
There was also a lot of excitement a few hundreds meters further, at the Regatta Operations base as more than 50 Off-shore Volunteers, RO staff, staff members and trainees prepared to board 9 Security Boats and 2 Catamarans to introduce the parade.
With 8 to 10 people per boat, everyone shared the excitement of the moment, knowing they would soon be part of the show.
The boat procession started at 21:30, and went the length of the canal with the two catamarans at the lead followed by the Security boats. Under the lights of the show, they appeared to the applauding spectators, while the first fireworks were launched on the other side of the canal.
Only fifteen minutes of glory for the participants, who would have liked a few more… For sure a great memory for our special night team.
