The Société Nautique de Genève (SNG) is the Yacht Club charged with defending the 32nd America’s Cup. On the sporting side, Team Alinghi is its representative, and is the sailing team that will mount the defence on the water.
On the administration side, the SNG has created AC Management to be the event authority that will organise and oversee all aspects of running the 32nd America’s Cup.
The Société Nautique de Genève is a long established club, having been formed in 1872 to host the local bourgeoisie and the foreign aristocrats who summered on the Lake.
The SNG is active in most watersports, including rowing, sailing and motor yachting.
Today the Club has over 3000 active members, and is recognised as the leading nautical association in Switzerland.
The SNG is scenically located on the shores of the Lake Geneva, facing the famous ‘jet d’eau’ fountain.
Every year, the SNG hosts and organises the Bol d’Or, a 75 nautical mile race around Lake Geneva.
