ANOTHER DEED OF GIFT MATCH

Two years of litigation in the New York Supreme Court led to a Deed of Gift Challenge from Larry Ellison’s BMW Oracle Racing. Valencia was again the European venue for the Cup, and saw Ellison’s 90 foot trimaran compete against Ernesto Bertarelli’s 90 foot on the waterline (120 foot overall including bowsprit) catamaran. The Americans were faster on all points of sailing winning two races by considerable margins and taking the America’s Cup back to the Golden Gate Yacht Club in San Francisco.
